The block in this quilt is an easy one to piece, which makes the quilt a good one for a weekend project. It’s worth taking a little extra care when squaring up your blocks as you need to allow an extra 1⁄4in seam allowance around the edges of the squares. When sorting colours be guided by what you have in your jelly roll. You could use a colour where we have used neutrals – that’s what makes our quilts all individual. The Moda jelly roll we used, The Wordsmith by Janet Clare, worked brilliantly.
